My family will be in Ambergris Caye for a week am interested in booking a tour of lamanai ruins and river cruise. I don't want to book through our hotel. Can some one recommend a private company?

Check out www.actionboysbelize.com . These guys offer personalize services all year round. Some of the hotels refuse to book some excursions if its less than 8 of you. Some will still book you if its less than 8 of you and would cancel on the day of the tour if they don't get others to join the tour.

You will need to board the 7:00 am ferry to the mainland of Belize City. When you arrive in Belize City one of their representatives will be on the dock waiting. The round trip on the ferry is $55.00 per/ person Belize dollars.
